ODFW Reminds Hunters, Sports Pac Holders to Pick Up Tags By Friday =
Deadline=20

PORTLAND - The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife reminds hunters the =
deadline to purchase tags for buck deer, cougar and bear hunting seasons =
is Friday, Sept. 27. "Sport-Pac" holders also must pick up their buck deer =
tags before license agents close Friday.=20

Traditionally, the day before the start of these hunts results in one of =
the busiest license sale days of the year.  In 2001, around $480,000 in =
revenue from licenses, tags and other documents was received on the =
deadline day, compared to about $80,000 a day earlier in the month. =
Hunters may purchase tags at many Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife =
offices and more than 560 Point-of-Sale license agents. =20

ODFW also reminds hunters going afield this weekend to check with local =
land managers for fire use and access restrictions. ODFW has posted =
information at www.dfw.state.or.us.
