Fish and Wildlife Commission to consider ODFW director contract Friday

PORTLAND - The Oregon Fish and Wildlife Commission will consider Friday extending the employment contract of the current Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife director Lindsay A. Ball beyond August, 2003, Commission Chair John Esler announced today.

The Commission is the rule-making body for the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW). The panel meets monthly to vote on issues, rules and policies.  The Commission also hires the ODFW director. Commission chair John Esler added the director's contract agenda item to the already-scheduled Friday meeting. 

Ball began working for ODFW as the interim agency director in February, 2001. In August, 2001, the Commission approved a two-year contract with Ball as the agency's permanent director.
