Fish and Wildlife Commission to meet January 10

PORTLAND - The Oregon Fish and Wildlife Commission will hold its next =
meeting Friday, January 10, at the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife =
Portland headquarters building. The meeting will begin at 8 a.m. and =
continue until all agenda items have been covered.
Agenda topics include:
=B7	Schedule of damages for commercial fishing violations: Department =
staff will ask the Commission to adopt the schedule of damages used in =
assessing commercial fishing violations during 2003.
=B7	Babich contested case final order: Department staff will ask the =
Commission to adopt the final order in this contested case.
=B7	2002-2003 Columbia River power system review: Department staff =
will provide the Commission a brief summary of the 2002 operations of the =
federal Columbia River power system, the key issues related to 2003 =
operations of the federal Columbia River power system, and a comparison of =
the Northwest Power Planning Council's draft measures for hydropower =
operations with Oregon's recommended measures submitted in June 2001.
=B7	2003 Columbia River spring chinook management: Department staff =
will provide the Commission with the 2003 Columbia/Willamette spring =
chinook forecasts and expectations for the spring chinook select =
fishery.=20
=B7	Wild turkey trapping in Southwest Region: Department staff will =
ask the Commission to adopt temporary rules to authorize the department to =
trap and relocate nuisance wild turkeys found within the Roseburg city =
limits.

Public testimony on scheduled agenda items is encouraged. Sign-up sheets =
are provided the day of the meeting.
Public testimony on other topics is called 'unscheduled testimony,' and =
begins at 1 p.m. Members of the public who bring unscheduled items before =
the Commission are allowed five minutes each. Appearances can be arranged =
by calling Mike Lueck in the ODFW Director's Office at 503-872-5272.=20
Reasonable accommodation for individuals needing assistive hearing =
devices, sign language interpreters or materials in large print will be =
provided as needed. Accommodations can be arranged by calling Lueck at =
least 24 hours in advance of the meeting.
