Trapping Task Force to Hold Meeting Thursday

PORTLAND - A task force appointed by the 2001 Legislature to review best =
management practices for trapping will meet again Thursday, Jan. 30, in =
Salem to discuss its recommendations to the 2003 Legislature.=20
The meeting is scheduled 8:30-10:30 a.m. in the basement meeting room at =
the Oregon Department of Agriculture, 635 Capitol Street NE, Salem.=20
The task force expected its meeting held Jan. 23 would be its last week, =
but the group felt it was important to keep working on its assignment.  =
The report to the 2003 Legislature is expected to be finalized Thursday =
and presented later this month.
The task force has studied trapping practices used in other states, and =
those developed by the International Association of Fish and Wildlife =
Agencies. Members of the public will have an opportunity to testify. ODFW =
staff members serve as advisors to the task force.=20
