Subcommittee of Fish and Wildlife Commission to meet Thursday to recommend membership of wolf advisory committee
PORTLAND - A subcommittee of the Oregon Fish and Wildlife Commission will meet in open session 10 a.m., Thursday, May 22, in Salem to recommend membership of a wolf advisory committee.
The meeting will be held at the Division of State Lands Board Room, 775 Summer Street N.E. in Salem.
A two-member subcommittee of the Commission will review the 134 nominations received for 81 nominees. The subcommittee will make recommendations for appointing 14 people to the advisory committee to represent the following groups: livestock producers, hunters, trappers, eastern Oregon county commissioners, wolf conservationists, range/forest land conservationists, educators, wildlife biologist/researchers, economists, residents of rural Oregon, public at-large, public land managers, and tribes. Two public at- large representatives will be recommended. In addition, an ODFW representative will work closely with the committee.
The subcommittee will present a recommended advisory group to the full Commission at the June 6 meeting in Pendleton.
