Fish and Wildlife Commission to meet in Bend
2005 Big Game Regulations and draft Wolf Management Plan on the agenda
BEND - The Oregon Fish and Wildlife Commission, the policy-making body
for fish and wildlife issues in the state, will hold its monthly meeting
in Bend Friday, Oct. 15, at the Deschutes County Office Building located
at 1300 NW Wall Street. Periodically Commission meetings are held away
from Salem Headquarters to improve communications and encourage
participation by citizens from all parts of the state.
Agenda items for the meeting include adoption of the 2005 Big Game
Hunting Regulations, an update on the Wolf Advisory Committee's Wolf
Conservation and Management Plan, and a briefing on the Comprehensive
Wildlife Conservation Strategy. The meeting will begin at 8 a.m. and
continue until the agenda is completed. Public testimony is invited.
Sign-up sheets will be available in the hallway outside the Commission
Room the day of the meeting for persons who want to testify on scheduled
agenda items.
Agenda item exhibits may be requested by calling the ODFW Director's
Office at 800-720-6339 or 503-947-6044. Agenda items also can be found
on ODFW's Web site at www.dfw.state.or.us/Comm/schedule.htm.
Persons seeking to testify on issues not on the formal agenda may do so
by making arrangements with the ODFW Director's Office at least 24
hours in advance by calling 800-720-6339 or 503-947-6044. All non-agenda
testimony, also called "unscheduled testimony," begins at 1 p.m. and
is limited to about six speakers for up to five minutes each.
In addition to the scheduled meeting, the Commission and the Oregon
Department of Fish and Wildlife invites the public to attend a reception
Thursday, Oct. 14, at 7 p.m. The reception will be held at the
Deschutes County Office Building. Members of the Commission, as well as
ODFW staff, will be available to answer questions about fish and
wildlife issues. Refreshments will be served.
Reasonable accommodations will be provided as needed for individuals
requesting assistive hearing devices, sign language interpreters or
large-print materials. Individuals needing these types of accommodations
may call the ODFW Director's Office at 800-720-6339 or 503-947-6044 at
least 24 hours in advance of the meeting.
