Willow Bar anglers can use old gate key starting tomorrow
ROSEBURG - Anglers who want to use Willow Bar to access the Chetco
River for fall chinook and winter steelhead fishing can use their old
gate keys beginning tomorrow, October 15.
This past summer, to comply with a court-mediated agreement with the
landowner, the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife put a new
temporary lock on the gate to limit unauthorized access and reduce
vandalism. Anglers who need a Willow Bar key for fall fishing should
visit the ODFW Gold Beach office located at 29907 Airport Way.
The Willow Bar access site is located off North Bank Chetco River
County Road at about river mile 9.5. ODFW reminds anglers to lock the
gate closed behind them.
