Rogue River spring chinook advisory committee to meet

ROSEBURG - The Rogue River Spring Chinook Conservation Plan Advisory
Committee will meet Wednesday, Oct. 27, in Central Point. Interested
members of the public are invited to attend.

The advisory committee is helping the Oregon Department of Fish and
Wildlife develop the state's first conservation plan under the Native
Fish Conservation Policy. The advisory committee is made up of
representatives from various interest groups along with several state
and federal agencies. ODFW expects to release a draft of the plan for
public comment next summer.

Advisory committee meetings are held monthly from 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
at the ODFW Central Point office, 1495 East Gregory Road. October's
agenda includes discussions on spring chinook habitat issues and factors
that limit production. Results from recently completed spawning surveys
also will be presented and discussed.

Reasonable accommodations will be provided as needed for individuals
requesting assistive hearing devices, sign language interpreters or
large-print materials. Individuals needing these types of accommodations
may call the ODFW Information and Education Division at 800-720-6339 or
503-947-6002 at least 24 hours in advance of the meeting.
