PORT OF MORROW OPENS LANDS FOR HUNTING ACCESS

SALEM - The Port of Morrow and the Oregon Department of Fish and
Wildlife announced today an agreement to open a portion of Port lands
near Boardman for game bird hunting access through the end of waterfowl
seasons. These lands are open immediately and access is allowed seven
days a week with no permit.

ODFW Wildlife Division Administrator Ron Anglin said hunters should
appreciate this new opportunity.

"Hunters who treat private land access with respect and obey the
regulations will assist greatly in keeping public access programs for
future hunting seasons," Anglin said.

Agricultural circles owned by the Port, combined with adjacent Coyote
Springs Wildlife Area, offer nearly 570 acres for hunting. These lands
primarily offer field hunting for geese. The five agricultural circles
are planted with winter wheat or alfalfa.

To reach the hunt area from I-84, take the Port of Morrow exit (exit
165), travel north on Laurel Road, turn right (east) on Columbia Avenue,
turn right on Rippee Road, and travel approximately 0.25 mile to reach
Coyote Springs Wildlife Area and the Port of Morrow Cooperative Hunt
Area parking lot. Maps and specific area regulations will be available
at the entry sign located in the wildlife area parking lot, or at ODFW's
Pendleton office.

Hunters are reminded that this area operates under specific
restrictions. Hunters should carefully read the regulations provided on
map boards and area maps.
