Hello ODLC Community!

I hope you are doing well. I am testing out our new mailing list
(odlc at omls.oregon.gov) with this email. If you aren't aware, we used to
have two mailing lists, and there was a lot of confusion about who should be
on which list, but moving forward we'll just have one. Probably more than
you wanted to know, but now you do! A big thank you to Elizabeth
Sonstegaard for getting our mailing lists cleaned up and ready to merge, and
thank you to Ross Fuqua at the State Library for making our new list!

I have a few updates for you from the past few weeks:

ODLC Executive Committee ELECTION RESULTS: We had unanimous confirmation
of our Executive Committee candidates for fiscal year 20/21 (positions start
7/1/2020). Here are your ODLC Executive Committee members for the coming
year:

*	Michael Grutchfield - CHAIR - from Jackson County Library Services
*	Elizabeth Sonstegaard - VICE-CHAIR/CHAIR ELECT - from Albany Public
Library (she will be the CHAIR in fiscal year 21/22)
*	Carrie Schindele-Cupples - SECRETARY - from the Springfield Public
Library
*	Rebecca Gabert - SELECTION COMMITTEE CHAIR - from the Salem Public
Library (Selection Chair is a two year position)
*	Ryan McGinnis - MEMBER AT LARGE - from the Cook Memorial Library
*	Fawn Dabrowiak - MEMBER AT LARGE - from the Libraries in Clackamas
County (LINCC)

BYLAWS CHANGE: We had a unanimous adoption of the proposed changes to the
ODLC Bylaws adding information about fiscal agency. To see the most current
version please visit this link:

APPLICATION FOR IMLS CARES GRANT: Our wonderful Selection Committee Chair,
Rebecca Gabert, identified that ODLC might be eligible for an IMLS Cares
Grant, and she is spearheading the effort to submit the application by the
deadline of 6/12/2020. We are asking for $150,000 to add a robust
collection of Spanish-language materials to our collection, in fiction and
nonfiction, for all ages. If we are able to get this grant we'll be able to
have the percentage of Spanish-language materials closely match the
percentage of Spanish speakers in the counties we serve. OLA's Public
Library Division has generously offered to be our fiscal agent for this
grant - thank you, PLD!

I hope you are all doing well, and staying healthy during this strange time.
I also hope that things are going well at your libraries as you start to
slowly reopen services. Please reach out if your ODLC Executive Committee
can help you in any way.

Take care, and have a wonderful weekend!

-Kathryn
