Hello ODLC Community,
It's been a while since I've reached out to you all, but I wanted you to know that the Executive Committee has been bus since our last Governing Board meeting and we look forward to seeing you all (virtually) at OLA!
That meeting is now scheduled to take place at 2:45 PM on Friday, April 23. For once, we don't have to meet at 7AM! The new time is both a function of the virtual conference and a benefit of our new status as a quasi-official OLA organ, since they took over as our fiscal agent.
There will be a lot to cover at that meeting, as we get into a new budget cycle, approving some applications to join by small libraries around the State, and go over grants and collection improvement. One thing to celebrate is the great work the Collection Committee has been doing to improve access to titles representing Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion statewide. About $1500 of LSTA money was recently spent to order antiracism titles, and we also built up an increasingly popular Spanish-language collection, which from barely existent a year ago is now up to 407 titles with 1522 total checkouts in the current fiscal year. The selectors deserve all our thanks for making this happen for us in Oregon!
That's all for now, I'll have more after our next meeting before OLA.
Thank you,
