Hello ODLC Community,

The Spring Governing Board Meeting is rapidly approaching: 4/23/21 AT 2:4PM at the OLA Virtual Conference. Save that date!!! Note also that our new relationship with OLA means that we no longer have to get up at a crazy early hour for our meeting.

A complete agenda is not yet prepared, but here are some highlights:

  *   NEW MEMBERS: Some small libraries have applied for ODLC membership, and we'll be voting to allow them to join, per the bylaws. Expanding ODLC means more money coming in for content, though it also means more demand on our collections. In these cases, the impact will be relatively small, but details will be in an upcoming packet.
  *   ELECTIONS:  We'll also be having elections for Executive Committee positions (Chair-Elect/Vice-Chair, Secretary, and two members-at-large).  We encourage and welcome new members to the Executive Committee as it is a great way to learn more about ODLC and get more involved in a service which touches libraries across the state.   If you are interested in one of the positions, or if you have questions, please reach out to me in the next few weeks.
  *   OTHER TOPICS WE'LL COVER:  we'll also be sharing an overview of ODLC, updates about our budget and our collection management work, and discussion of how you and your patrons are feeling about OverDrive, any issues you have experienced, and other discussion as requested.
Other news from the Executive Committee: Attached you'll find a list of new simultaneous-use titles that anyone can access at any time on Library2Go. These are mostly adult fiction with some nonfiction, from a handful of publishers that are making them available to us for free.
