OEBB is pleased to announce that starting October 1, 2010, educational
entities will be able to purchase Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
benefits through OEBB. EAP services are currently offered by more than
30 entities participating in OEBB and are used by many organizations to
increase employee health and productivity, as well as reduce overall
health costs.
OEBB's EAP plan will be administered by Reliant Behavioral Health, a
locally-owned employee assistance and behavioral health company with
offices in Portland and Eugene. Reliant currently provides EAP services
to more than 650 organizations nationwide, including a number of
educational entities here in Oregon. Reliant was chosen to provide EAP
services to OEBB members because they offer comprehensive and affordable
services. We estimate that many educational entities will save 20 to 60
percent of their current EAP costs when continuing this very important
benefit under one of OEBB's EAP options.
Your entity can choose from three options (3, 5 and 6 visits). Each
option includes the following comprehensive EAP services, to name a few:
* Face-to-face counseling for any work/life issue
* Crisis consultation
* Work/life services
* Management counseling and training
* Health and wellness services
* Legal and financial counseling
* Worksite trainings and support
A complete list of the services and rates can be found under the OEBB
Information section of our Web site at www.oregon.gov/das/oebb
<http://www.oregon.gov/das/oebb> .
Entities are not required to provide EAP benefits to their employees;
however, as an OEBB participating entity, if you want to provide EAP
benefits for your employees, you must provide them through OEBB
effective October 1, 2010. If you do not currently offer EAP services
for your employees, we encourage you to think about adding this benefit
for your employees.
Entities will identify the EAP option in the MyOEBB system along with
the medical, dental, vision and optional benefit plan selections for the
2010-11 plan year with an October 1, 2010, effective date. Entities may
elect to cover non-benefit eligible employees under an EAP option they
select. OEBB will be modifying its current system to collect summary
eligibility information and add EAP costs to entities' monthly invoices.
As a reminder, the plan selection period will begin in early May and has
been extended through June 30 this year.
We will be updating our Web site over the next couple of weeks with more
detailed information on the EAP services. We will also have a Reliant
Behavioral Health representative available at all insurance committee
meetings we attend in May and June to answer any questions.
If you have questions about this new benefit, please contact Glenn Baly
at glenn.baly at state.or.us <mailto:glenn.baly at state.or.us> , or by phone
at 503-378-4960. If you have questions about the plan selection
process, call 1-888-4MyOEBB.
Sincerely,
