[OEBBBUSMAN] OEBB -- ERRP employee notification

It came to our attention that a message to your employees actually
reached employees before we let you know it was being distributed and
what to expect.  We are sorry this happened and for the additional
workload and frustration this has caused many of you.

 

I looked into the sequence of events that resulted in this poor timing.
There were a couple of things that happened that were unforeseeable (an
employee illness and the listserv system holding the "entity notice" for
23 hours before requesting a release), but we should be making sure we
always provide you at least one week's notice whenever possible.  Even
with an unforeseeable event (or two), that should ensure you know what
your employees will be receiving from OEBB well before they get it and
will help us prepare for all of the right questions once something
actually goes out to employees.

 

The notice itself is written by the federal government, so we weren't
able to provide additional OEBB-specific language.  We have FAQs posted
on our web site now and hopefully these will be helpful to you and your
employees.  There is also an overview of the ERRP on the web site at:
