Elevation FIT,
A couple of follow up items regarding the meeting this Friday:
1. Please bring your lunch to the meeting
2. Bring your cost benefit sheets and see attachments should you
need another copy
3. Put some thought into Governance and Stewardship models, e.g.,
ORMAP, PNW Hydro, regional consortia, etc.
4. Review the IFSAR results from DOGAMI
Look forward to seeing all of you, anticipate another packed event and
imagine that the time will pass quickly, perhaps too quickly.

Subject: Elevation FIT - Reminder and Agenda
Sent on behalf of Brandt Melick:
Elevation FIT,
Our second 2010 Elevation FIT meeting is approaching soon, Friday,
November 19th. Please double check your calendars, check your travel
plans to convene in Salem and see revised agenda attached for further
detail.
We have another packed event. During the meeting we'll continue a few
themes from our last meeting, begin diving into the development of a
state stewardship plan and evaluate methods to fill in gaps between
LiDAR projects. Hopefully we'll have a good balance of presentations
and round table discussion.
First, representatives from USGS and FEMA will provide an update on
national programs, and Don Lewis (DOGAMI) will discuss the DOGAMI/FEMA
flood mapping project. Doug and Jake will follow with the Columbia
River Project, Lidargrammetry and methods to overcome point cloud
storage and use issues in the geodatabase. Then we will transition into
a discussion of governance and the roles of Stewards and Framework
Implementation Teams throughout the state. During this round table
discussion, we'll look at what's been working well, what has not, where
improvements are needed and how all of this relates to governance
models. Please come prepared to share your thoughts on this subject and
work toward positive outcomes. The purpose of this discussion is to
make sure we have all of the issues on the table, find common ground and
achieve clarity on next steps.
Later in the afternoon, we'll return to the more technical aspects of
elevation data, hear from David Ward on IFSAR, Ian Madin on DOGAMI's
comparative analysis of ISFAR and then discuss opportunities across the
state. Please come prepared to engage in this element as well.
After the meeting all are invited to participate in the 'Solutions
Social' where we hope to engage in an unconfined exploration of uses and
needs across the state - please be sure to bring your cost benefit
sheets to this event. Free drinks to those who hand in a completed
sheet . . . . give the sheets to me and your bill to Cy Smith.
As always, please feel free to ask should you have any questions.
Thank you for your time,
Brandt Melick
