Good afternoon OGIC members.

I've seen a few emails about my upcoming departure from GEO that included OGIC members so I wanted to make sure everyone on the Council receives the same message. Beginning in January, Enterprise Information Services and the Data Governance and Transparency Program are shifting to a hybrid work model and the GIO position will be expected to work in Oregon on a weekly basis. Since I moved out of the state and relocated across the country in 2022, I do not plan to move back to Oregon. Therefore, my time as Oregon's Geographic Information Officer is ending. Kathryn and I will be working over the next month or so to shift duties to others to ensure a smooth transition. But I wanted to provide the Council with clarification on the changes coming forth and assure you that we are collaborating to plan next steps for the GIO role.

OGIC will continue to function as-is and will continue to be supported by GEO and EIS staff. When I have more details I will certainly share them. Until then, we're preparing for the January OGIC meeting scheduled for 1/29/2025 and making sure all of the advisory committees are ready to go for the new calendar year. (i.e., new calendar appointments, etc.)

I hope you all have a wonderful Chrismas and New Years holiday.

Rachel
