OGIC Committee Members, I hope this email finds you well and enjoying the Holidays! As I reflect on 2025, I want to focus on the significant accomplishments that were made, given the challenges we faced.

Committee Highlights
Our Data Sharing and Governance committee made great strides with completing consultation with all agencies identified in our first phase of data sharing. Overall, we're close to the halfway point to completing our Framework inventory. Great work team! Our Outreach and Communications committee continues to refine OGIC's message through OGIC's website and developing 'one-pagers' which helps the broader geospatial community understand the role of OGIC.

Meetings and Workshops
As I look back on our four meetings, I think one of the highlights was our April meeting where we heard from Tom Elder on the Address Point Data Standard. Tom and the Addresses & Buildings Framework Implementation Team did significant work to build consensus and develop a meaningful framework and standard. OGIC unanimously endorsed the standard, which is now available on GEOHub<https://geohub.oregon.gov/pages/024b0880ea744c4cbdbfd37dc24046d8>. During our July meetings, I was impressed by the engaging work that was done to develop a long-term funding strategy for the Oregon statewide imagery program. This is a topic that is important to so many of us and will help guide and influence future funding discussions.

Leadership Transitions
2025 was a year of significant transitions for positions that supported OGIC and the geospatial community at large. Earlier this year Rachel Smith and Kathryn Darnell Helms moved on from their respective positions. While that transition was unexpected, we received strong support from EIS leadership and existing staff from the Data Governance & Transparency team who stepped into new roles. Erik Brewseter filled in as the interim CDO and Melissa was appointed to the GIO role. In the past few months Nate Ramsey has officially stepped into his role as Oregon's Chief Data Officer.
Starting in January, we'll have the next wave of OGIC Executive leadership transitions. Molly will roll off her role as Past Chair, and that is the role that I will transition into. Dan Brown will become our OGIC Chair. In October's meeting OGIC nominated two candidates for Chair-Elect, Josh Tanner has accepted the nomination to serve as Chair-Elect in 2026. I look forward to making it official with a vote early in 2026. Please welcome Josh into his new role and thank Molly for her years of service to the OGIC Executive team. I'm really excited about the vision and leadership Dan, Josh, Melissa and Nate will bring to us!

p.s. keep an eye out in coming weeks for a membership survey from Melissa or Dan. We have the survey ready to go, just trying to figure out the mechanisms to get it to you all.

Best to you and your family this Holiday Season.
