[OGIC] FW: Congrats to our new GIO!

Good morning, I wanted to forward this announcement along with a few extra details. I have committed to a year-long rotation in the GIO position.

Recognizing that the relationship between the CDO and GIO are important, the year timeframe will allow enough time to onboard the new CDO.

I anticipate a similar rotation/internal recruitment for a framework coordinator. However, at this time, I do not have any details on the timeline or how the recent letter from the governor may impact that decision.

I am happy to announce that Melissa Foltz has accepted the role of GIO. As many of you know, Melissa joined DGT as the Geospatial Data Governance Coordinator in January of 2023. We all recognize the significance of these leadership roles and their impact on our shared goals for data governance. As the new Geographic Information Officer, Melissa is furthering her commitment to support OGIC and the broader GIS community.
