<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";color:#1F497D">At the OGIC meeting on 6/20/12, Dugan Petty, OGIC Chair, presented information about the meeting this week with the Enterprise Leadership Team (ELT) at which all the DAS Legislative
 Concepts were discussed, including the one that OGIC has put forward on data sharing.  The latest concept draft is available at the OGIC GovSpace website, at
<a href="https://govspace.oregon.gov/community/agencies/ogic">https://govspace.oregon.gov/community/agencies/ogic</a>.  As was stated at the OGIC meeting today, the concept was narrowed to sharing public safety-related data between and among agencies that are
 engaged in or support public safety and emergency response/preparedness.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";color:#1F497D"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";color:#1F497D">There is a very short time in which to make revisions to the data sharing legislative concept based on the issues raised at the ELT meeting. 
<b>We are seeking your comments and suggestions for revisions to the concept to resolve or address those issues no later than close of business July 2.</b>  The issues raised by the ELT are as follows:<o:p></o:p></span></p>

</span></span></span><![endif]><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";color:#1F497D">What data will be covered by the proposed concept? The ELT was concerned that the data subject to sharing should have a clear nexus to data needed for
 public safety, emergency preparedness or emergency management.  They were also concerned that certain sensitive data, like child support information, should not be included.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

 the recipient of this information is a public safety, and or emergency preparedness, or emergency management organization or authorized to provide direct support to such organizations.  Other organizations would not qualify for access to this information and
 the use privileges envisioned under the proposed legislation.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

 will be transferred.  This is likely critical for the agencies to assess their fiscal impacts. If the bill is to be successful, it needs to be crafted to minimize agency fiscal impacts.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
