In Molalla, we formed a subcommittee from our Promotion Committee to work on
the logo.  They used ideas that had been collected at a public meeting and
also walked around town for inspiration.  Additionally, the subcommittee put
together a collage of logos from other Main Street communities.  Using all
of these resources, they developed two draft designs and presented them to
each of the other committees for comment.  The final logo is below along
with an attached PDF of the collage.

Hello all,

 

Astoria is in the process of coming up with a logo for our downtown
association. We have tried coming up with concepts at the board level (with
two designers on the board), but seem to be stuck in analysis paralysis. We
are considering looking at an inexpensive freelance, having a contest, etc.
in order to get more objective feedback and move forward. Any suggestions or
ideas based on what worked for you?
