The SHPO recently made available for public comment a draft of the updated Historic Preservation Plan for Oregon. The National Park Service requires SHPOs to complete state plans and revise them every five or six years. The Oregon Historic Preservation Plan serves two primary purposes: first, it is a guide for SHPO activities. Annual work plans for the office and for individual staff members are rooted in the Plan. Second, the plan provides a framework for coordinating the goals and activities of preservationists statewide, those individuals and organizations that are not part of the SHPO. The Plan allows them to see how their specific concerns and goals fit into the big picture of preservation issues and activities statewide.
Please visit the SHPO's website at www.oregonheritage.org to view the Plan and provide your comments by April 30th. We value your input. Thanks!
