Join us in Baker City for the Oregon Main Street Conference, Oct. 5-7, 2011 and see why Baker City is one of the finalists in Rand McNally's Best of the Road "Prettiest Small Towns in America" competition. To spark your interest, here is the Best of the Road team's video from their visit to Baker City http://ontheroad.bestoftheroad.com/2011/07/11/mcnavigators-visit-baker-city-or
Some of the conference highlights this year:
-Our Keynote address, "The 20 Ingredients of an Outstanding Destination," is by Roger Brooks from Destination Downtown International. Roger has assisted nearly a 1,000 communities in their efforts to become better places to live, invest, establish a business, or visit. His enthusiasm is not only inspiring, but gets people excited, laughing, and scribbling notes as fast as they can, fired up to go home and make something happen. This keynote is based on 6 years of surveying and studying more than 400 well-branded, vibrant downtowns, downtown districts, and communities across the country to identify the most common elements that let to their success.
-Our "Excellence in Downtown Revitalization" awards features the best projects and activities from around the state and is guaranteed to motivate you to go home with solid ideas for enhancing your downtown revitalization efforts.
-We also have concurrent sessions and walking tours covering the areas of organization, promotion, design, and economic restructuring lined up that are guaranteed to educate and inspire action!
The full agenda and additional information will be available soon, but for now, make sure you "save the dates" on your calendar for this not to be missed conference!
