We have been struggling with a similar situation about our Downtown
identity. Right now our Visitors & Convention Bureau has hired a company to
put together a brand for all of Medford. Downtown is a part of that program
but not the entire piece. We will be working through the process with them
which should help us with our own branding effort. I suggest that it is a
good idea to bring in or at least talk to folks that are not as "close" as
you and your committee might be in order to get a vision through fresh eyes.
Most of the folks close and not so close to it seem to feel that "Downtown
is Downtown" why try to make it anything else.
