Before you move boldly on with the idea of pavers, I recommend you look at something that Ashland did; they did tiles as a public art installation. As a vertical surface, and I would assume (thought you know what happens when you assume) that the maintenance is greatly diminished as well as the overall cost. Here is a photo I took of the project on a visit a few years ago. I think it's a lovely example of how to leave a lasting impression of public involvement and dedication.

Good Luck!

Subject: [OMS_MANAGERS] Please advise re: engraved paver fundraiser questions

Hi Oregon Main Streeters,

We have a question for those of you who may have any advise on engraving pavers (to lay in the ground to create a walkway) as a fundraiser.

What has been the maintenance cost involved following construction?

What procedures have been established for when one of the engraved pavers may need to be replaced?

Any other thoughts regarding on-going maintenance of the pavers would be much appreciated.

Thank you,
Angi Ford, Sherwood Main Street
