[OMS_MANAGERS] Alcohol allowed for events in City Parks?

Hi Kelly,
I recently learned a little about this as we took over our outdoor movies this
year. I wanted to set it up like our music in the park and have vendors, food
and beer/wine. The city decided not to let us serve alcohol because it was
geared towards families with younger kids, primarily animated movies. However,
the City of Sherwood does allow you to bring your own alcohol to parks. They
also have a beer/wine vendor at their own event, Music on the Green, which is in
a public park.
So for Sherwood they do normally allow alcohol at events, but it does have to be
permitted unless it is community members bringing their own. Of course the
permit requires that the area be fenced off so they can monitor that the alcohol
stays in a centralized location, but it can be set up so that kids can be
allowed in the designated area as well. It just depends on the specifics of the
event.
