Hello to all! Here's a few updates that might be of interest....

1. Days of Culture, October 1-8, 2012
Do you have cultural or historic preservation events or activities
happening the first week of October? Then remember to list on Oregon
Cultural Trust's "Days of Culture" website. Oregon Days of Culture
celebrates the role of the arts, humanities, and heritage in our
everyday lives. Participate by attending any number of events around the
state.See http://oregondaysofculture.org/ for additional info.

2. Only Local on-line Toolkit
See this really nifty idea to tie museum activities with supporting
local communities - concept could be transferable to Main Street! The
“Only Local” Toolkit is designed as a resource for children’s
museum professionals who are interested in working more sustainably and
collaboratively with their local communities. Toolkit components include
how to make the mindset shift to only local and benefits of doing so,
finding local talent, sourcing local materials and a museum case study.

3. Oregon Main Street Annual Conference, October 3-5, 2012, Corvallis
Get ready to be inspired! Make new connections and get new tools to
keep your downtown vibrant and competitive in today’s market. The 2012
Oregon Main Street Annual Conference will offer proven ideas and
strategies for preservation-based revitalization that is relevant to
rural, mid-sized, and urban communities. This conference is a great way
to look at the “big picture” of downtown revitalization by discovering
fresh ideas and learning numerous ways to turn your historic downtown or
neighborhood commercial district into a bustling center of activity.
Sessions cover a variety of topics for both beginners and those with
experience. New this year is a whole track on historic preservation
topics coordinated by conference partner the Historic Preservation
League of Oregon. The conference format includes walking tours,
lectures, crash courses, and networking time. Join us for this very
special, one-of-a-kind conference! For additional info, see:
