We are writing you on behalf of the Resource Assistance for Rural Environments (RARE) program, an AmeriCorps program administered by the University of Oregon’s Community Service Center.  Each year we place 25-30 graduate level participants in Oregon’s rural communities to work on community development projects for an 11 month period. The RARE program is now in its 18th year, and we have made more than 395 placements.  This year we are supporting 29 participants who are working in communities from Astoria to Lakeview. At this point, we are beginning to recruit communities to apply for the RARE program during the 2012-2013 year.

Additionally, we would appreciate it if you passed this information on to representatives of the communities that you work with.
