Greetings:
As the 2nd Executive Director (immediately after Joann Verger) of the Coos Bay Downtown Association (1984-1987), I wish to welcome Coos Bay BACK into the Oregon Main Street network, as well as Port Orford, and Sherwood. We know that you will be an amazing addition to the network.
I look forward to working with y'all and sharing/swapping successful downtown revitalization ideas.

While not a requirement to be accepted at the Transforming Downtown level, all three communities were participating at the Exploring Downtown level.

Communities must demonstrate they have a high level of commitment to implementing a comprehensive downtown revitalization program using the Main Street Approach and must have a cohesive core of historic or older commercial and mixed-use buildings that represent the community’s architectural heritage and may include compatible in-fill. They must also have a sufficient mass of businesses, buildings, and density to be effective, as well as be compact and pedestrian-oriented.
