Our "facade grant" is funded through the City's Urban renewal agency.


Small Grants Program

Overview

 Competitive matching grants of up to $5,000 per property.

 A total of $25,000 is available for this round of grants.

 Applicant’s matching funds will be, at a minimum 50 percent of total

project costs.

 May be used only on projects within the 919-acre CARA boundary.

 Grants may be used for exterior work such as paint, awnings, façade

improvements, or other visible projects.

 Money cannot be used for work that has already been completed.

How to Apply

 Fill out the Small Grant application available at City Hall, or e-mail Kate.

o Describe the work.

o Get bids to document the costs (at least one, but preferably two

or three should be included).

o Describe how the project will benefit CARA.

Timing

Small grants are considered in March and July each year. Contact Kate Porsche

for specific deadlines and dates.

Review

Projects will be reviewed against the SGS Factors to Consider Table first by staff,

then by the CARA Advisory Board. As an applicant, you will need to attend this

meeting to briefly review your plan and be available for any questions the Board

may have.
