JOB ANNOUNCEMENT: HEALTHY MAINE STREETS PROGRAM COORDINATOR

The Maine Development Foundation's Maine Downtown Center is seeking a
Program Coordinator for the new Healthy Maine Streets (HMS) program, to
begin immediately. This is a 20-hour week contracted position funded
through a two-year federal grant from the US Health and Human
Services/Center for Disease Control. The HMS Program Coordinator will
manage and assist program activities focused on the 20 participating
downtowns and their Wellness Councils. The goal of this highly
collaborative program is to frame wellness as one component of economic
success, productivity, and community excellence through downtown
business districts. The role of the Maine Downtown Center, working with
MCD Public Health, is to bring small businesses into Wellness Councils
to create collaborative programs for their employees. This position is
responsible to the Senior Program Director of the Maine Downtown Center
and has the potential to expand to a full time position in 2013, with
additional responsibilities.
The successful candidate will be a resourceful self-starter with a
positive entrepreneurial and energetic spirit and possess: < / o>
* Highly effective interpersonal and communications skills
* Excellent group facilitation, and organizational skills and be
able to multi-task
* Successful project management experience
* Excellent public speaking, research and writing skills
* Demonstrated experience in grant management
* Ability to travel statewide approximately 60% of the time,
including some overnights
* Experience with small business worksite wellness programs
and/or downtown revitalization is also strongly preferred
* Undergraduate degree preferred
