Lloyd Purdy, executive director of Main Street Oregon City, has accepted a new position with the City of Tigard. Lloyd was our "Main Street Manager of the Year" last year. While we are sad to see him leave his position with Oregon City, we are happy to keep him in Oregon. Please join me in wishing him all the best in his new job!

The nonprofit MSOC is looking for a new Executive Director (job announcement attached). As you may have heard, this August I will begin working as the Economic Development Manager for the City of Tigard.

If you know of someone who's ready for the next challenge in their career -- and loves community building, placemaking and partnership building. Please encourage them to apply for MSOC's Executive Director position. Over the last five years, downtown Oregon City has begun to evolve into a modern marketplace. We're building upon a foundation of success. This includes: the introduction of more than 49 new businesses downtown, working with partners to attract more than $3.5 million in infrastructure enhancement grants, new special events and downtown focused programs, a national award winning marketing campaign, and new partnerships with local and regional organizations.

As the leader of a public/private partnership, MSOC's Executive Director sets the tone, pace, and direction for revitalization efforts focused on downtown Oregon City. And there are exciting opportunities and challenges just around the corner -- the mill site redevelopment, new interest in residential capacity downtown, and continued opportunities for business growth.
