Congratulations to McMinnville and the McMinnville Downtown Association for being the runner-up in Parade magazine's "America's Best Main Street" competition! This morning, Parade magazine announced that Collierville, TN is the winner of its "America's Best Main Street" competition!  Congratulations is also in order for McMinnville, Oregon - which was designated as the runner-up, and is also featured on Parade's site and in the magazine this weekend. We were thrilled to see that 8 of the 16 semi-finalists, and both of the finalists, were Accredited Main Street communities. Over 2000 communities were nominated, so this is quite an honor.

Collierville, TN and McMinnville, OR are both stand-out communities and we're so proud of their success.  The strong showing by Accredited Main Streets across the board is a testament to the effectiveness of the Main Street approach to downtown revitalization, and to the strength of our Network. It is no surprise that the combination of the Main Street Four-Point Approach (r), plus the hard work and passion Main Street leaders are known for  results in places that resonate with Americans.

Our hats go off to Collierville, TN and McMinnville, OR - as well as the rest of finalists. We also want to recognize Parade for bringing national recognition to the work that Main Street communities do.  Please join the Center in "liking" and sharing Parade's post on Facebook - and in tweeting up a storm celebrating the success of these 8 Main Street communities.  We hope that strong pickup by our Network will encourage Parade to make this an annual award!
