Hi Sheri -
On the "Excellence in Downtown Revitalization Awards" project timeframe - I
assume that should be between July 1, 2013 and June 30, 2014?
Thanks -
Cassie

1. There is only one week until the June 2 deadline for the National
Trust Preservation Fund Grants! Grants from the National Trust Preservation
Funds encourage preservation at the local level by providing seed money for
planning and education projects. These grants help stimulate public
discussion, enable local groups to gain the technical expertise needed for
particular projects, introduce the public to preservation concepts and
techniques, and encourage financial participation by the private and public
sectors. Applications are due Monday, June 2. Grants range up to $5,000 and
require a dollar-for-dollar match. Organizations are eligible to receive up
to three grants in a two year period, though only one grant will be awarded
per project phase. Full eligibility requirements and grant guidelines, along
with a link to our application, can be found at
www.preservationnation.org/funding. Questions? Contact the grants office at
202-588-6277 or grants at savingplaces.org.
2. Heritage Tourism Workshop: There is still time to register for the
Heritage Tourism Workshop, set to take place from 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., June 9
at the Sprout! Regional Food Hub, 418 A St., Springfield. Workshop
participants will learn about the values and needs of these travelers,
identify community and organizational assets that could appeal to travelers,
learn about successful cultural collaborations, and identify ways to work
collaboratively to tap opportunities to increase heritage tourism. To
register, visit the Oregon Heritage website. For further information, email
Kyle Jansson or call (503) 986-0673.
3. 2014 Excellence in Downtown Revitalization Awards: Oregon Main
Street, administered by the State Historic Preservation Office (Oregon Parks
and Recreation Department), invites you to submit nominations for
outstanding achievements in comprehensive downtown revitalization efforts
(see attached Award RFP). Applications are due by July 10, 2014. Awards will
be presented during a special celebration at the Oregon Main Street
Conference, October 1-3, 2014, in McMinnville, Oregon.
Eligibility: All levels of participants in the Oregon Main Street Network
(Performing Main Street, Transforming Downtown, Exploring Downtown, and
Affiliate) may submit applications. Call 503.986.0679 if you're not sure
whether your community is participating in the Network.
Project Timeframe: To be eligible, all projects, activities, or events
submitted for recognition must have been completed between July 1, 2014, and
June 30, 2014.
