Dear Sheri - I'm the chair of the Promotion Committee for the Beaverton Downtown Association, sponsored by Beaverton's Main Street Program. One of our projects is First Friday which takes place from May through October; we just completed our third season. The core of our committee has been together for two of the three years and some of us have been involved from the beginning. 
  
As this season came to a close, our committee members seem to be divided on how we should proceed next year - some want to continue with our basic plan and make improvements based on what we've learned, while others want to make major changes and redesign the event completely.  Also, several individuals have expressed an interest in joining us as we start to work on 2015's event. 
  
Before we move forward or make a major change, I feel it would be beneficial to our group if someone from McMinnville's Promotion Committee (or another Main Street city tin our area hat has achieved success with such an event) could meet with us and share their knowledge and experience. Can you advise if this type of collaboration is appropriate and if so, how do we go about arranging a meeting? Do we pay a fee for this advice? Do we contact others directly or work through you? etc.
