[OMS_MANAGERS] Its time to testify for the Revitalize Main Street Act!

Dear Main Streeters,
We’ve been talking about the need for a state Historic Rehab Incentive for several years now.  As you probably know, the Revitalize Main Street Act (SB 565)<http://restoreoregon.org/rehab-tax-incentive/> has been introduced and we just learned that it’s scheduled for a hearing by the Senate Finance Committee on Wednesday, March 4th @ 8:30am, State Capitol<http://cts.vresp.com/c/?RestoreOregon/a2d12182be/b13a66874a/589fae3de1>, Hearing Room A, 900 Court St. NE, Salem, OR  97301

This is the critical time when our bill will either get voted forward out of committee, or stall.  WE NEED YOUR TESTIMONY<http://restoreoregon.org/time-to-testify-sb565/>… or never again complain that there isn’t enough financial support to restore our historic buildings. ☺

The biggest obstacle to the restoration and adaptive reuse of historic buildings is money.  Traditional financing just won’t cover the high cost of restoration, code upgrades, and seismic retrofitting in many cases.

Our goal is for every committee member to know about our bill and to have heard from numerous constituents about its importance so they vote YES to pass it forward out of committee.  Let's pack the hearing room with supporters and leave no doubt that it’s high time for the state to invest in Oregon’s Main Streets.

THIS IS WHERE YOU COME IN!

1. Email or write your state Senator and Representative and ask them to support SB 565, the Revitalize Main Street Act.  Do it right now, this week.  We've made it easy.
