1.       Excellence in Downtown Revitalization Award Nominations: Oregon Main Street, part of Heritage Programs at Oregon Parks and Recreation Department, invites you to submit nominations for outstanding achievements in comprehensive downtown revitalization efforts. Nominations include a broad range of categories based on the Main Street 4-Point Approach: Organization, Design, Economic Development, and Promotion.    Applications are due on July 10, 2015.

Awards will be presented during a special celebration at the Oregon Main Street Conference, October 7-9, in The Dalles, Oregon. All levels of participants in the "Main Street Track" of the Oregon Main Street Network (Performing Main Street, Transforming Downtown, and Exploring Downtown) may submit applications. 2. Main Street Meet-Ups: Just a reminder to sign up for the Main Street Meet-up nearest to you if you haven't done so already. Please feel free to share with area communities or local media. We really hope to stimulate a regional downtown dialogue!

We are hosting a series of Oregon Main Street "Meet-Ups" regionally for communities participating in the Oregon Main Street Network or who are interested in learning a little more about downtown revitalization. The purpose of the regional network meetings are to:

  *   Meet fellow community members working on downtown revitalization efforts in your area
  *   Encourage conversation between communities
  *   Share information on project successes
  *   Identify challenges and opportunities affecting local downtown revitalization efforts
  *   Give feedback to Oregon Main Street on ways we can be of assistance to communities

The "Main Street Meet-ups" will be 1 to 3 p.m. followed by a downtown walking tour at 3 - 4 p.m. in each of the host communities. The dates/location/registration link for each of the Main Street Meet-ups are (Please register at the location for the Meet Up you want to attend - feel free to share this email with those you think might be interested in attending):
