Dear planners,

I recently announced my resignation as Executive Director of Main Street
Skowhegan and I am helping my board of directors in spreading the word
about the opening.  Could you please share this information with anyone
you think may be interested in replacing me?  My last day on the job
will be August 20.

My life partner, Dela Taylor, and I are excited to expand our impact
into other communities by helping community developers, downtowns,
municipalities, preservationists, entrepreneurs, nonprofits, and artists
to become more effective in telling their story.  We just launched our

Executive Director for Main Street Skowhegan:

Main Street Skowhegan is seeking an Executive Director who will be
responsible for the development, coordination, administration,
documentation, and implementation of the ongoing downtown revitalization
effort in Skowhegan using the National Main Street model.  The Director
administers the office and day-to-day affairs of Main Street Skowhegan,
which is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, while supervising staff and volunteers
to attain the specific goals and objectives of the organization and its
programs. Position is a full-time position with benefits; pay
commensurate with experience and educational background.

Required knowledge, skills, and assets:

1.                   Excellent interpersonal skills, including public
speaking.

2.                   Excellent written communication skills. Grant
writing experience preferred.

3.                   Ability to build and maintain professional
relationships and inter-organizational partnerships.

4.                   Experience in budget preparation and ability to
develop a strategic plan.

5.                   Strong organizational skills and ability to work
independently.

6.                   Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).

7.                   A minimum of two years management or supervisory
experience, preferably in public or non-profit organization.  

8.                   Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Community
Development, Public Administration, Business Administration, Public
Relations or a related field preferred.

9.                   Experience in web development a plus.

10.               Familiarity with the Skowhegan area strongly
preferred.
