All,

This is a great idea! We'll certainly do this for the Oregon Folklife Network's social media accounts.

It would be wonderful if you all could also tag anything that feels like traditional culture, folk art/music/dance/song/festival/food and even vernacular architecture with #Oregonfolk for the same reason.

Here's a bit about who we are and what we do:

The Oregon Folklife Network is the state of Oregon's Folk and Traditional Arts Program, made up of a network of statewide culture and heritage partners that operate on state, regional, county, and community levels to document, support, preserve, and celebrate Oregon's cultural traditions.

The Oregon Folklife Network makes a meaningful difference in Oregon communities and Tribes by documenting, supporting, and celebrating our diverse cultural traditions and by empowering our tradition-bearers.

OFN conducts folklife fieldwork and engages with communities, organizations, and Tribes to increase public awareness about Oregon's living cultural heritage.

Hey all,

I know a lot of you Main Street managers are (or know) social media ninjas, so I am asking for your help.

We are trying to connect Oregon's heritage across communities and organizations through the use of the hashtag #oregonheritage.  When you're showing off your community's historic buildings, museums or cultural events on social media tag it #oregonheritage to link it to the rest of the world promoting Oregon's history and culture online.

Our hope is to create a vibrant, crowdsourced and constantly updated view of all Oregon's significant places, culture and events.  Help us out on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter!
