1.      Updated Fall Workshop Info: Attached is a copy of the draft agenda and speaker bios for the Formulating A Strategy: Historic Building Revitalization Workshop, September 15-16, in Astoria. This is a deep dive into the building revitalization process and will cover such timely topics as understanding building codes and how they apply to historic buildings, project planning, and a fun field exercise to put into practice what you learn! 2.      Evening of Excellence: Help us celebrate the 2016 award-winning projects representing the best of downtown revitalization in our main street communities! The banquet and awards celebration will be Thursday, September 15, 6 to 9 pm, in the McTavish Room at the historic Liberty Theater. The banquet is hosted by the Astoria Downtown Historic District Association. Tickets are $35 for the banquet which can be purchase using the Eventbrite link above.

We are excited to have Brett Estes as our keynote speaker at the awards celebration. Brett is the city manager of Astoria. Hear how Astoria has used historic preservation and their local heritage as a key component of their asset-based economic development efforts.
