Subject: [Raremainstreet] Boating facility small grant opportunity $10, 000 max, no match!

Hey guys, I thought this might be useful for people who have any type of boating facility near their downtown. From what I've heard, they're "giving" money away before the biennium is up. I applied for money to purchase construction materials, and a metal covered kiosk with informational boards.

Boating Facility Providers:

We are currently accepting Small Grant requests for recreational boating facility projects that must be completed by June 30, 2017.

Small Grants are for minor projects such as dock renovation, crack sealing parking area, reroofing a restroom, lighting etc. Below is the eligibility criteria and information on how to apply.

Eligibility:

* The total project cost cannot exceed $20,000 with the maximum Marine Board award not to exceed $10,000.

* Project cannot be phased to fit within the financial limitations.

* Project eligibility requirements are the same as they are for Boating Facilities Grants.

* Cities, counties, ports, park districts, state and federal agencies can request assistance.

* Private marinas that provide public access can also apply but only for pumpouts, dump stations or floating restrooms.

* Payment of grant funds are made on a reimbursable basis after the grant recipient submits supporting documentation, reimbursement form and photos of the completed project.

* The proposed work cannot be initiated until after you receive notification of award.

* A decision on a Small Grant is usually made within one week of receiving the request. If approved, the grant recipient will receive a letter of award.

How to Apply:

Submit a letter to me that describes the project and includes the following information and attachments. Your request can be emailed to me directly.

* Project need and purpose. Identify recreational boating benefit.

* Total cost, including force account labor, materials, and equipment.

* What is being requested from the Marine Board?

* What you are providing for match?

* When the project will be complete?.

* Provide a quote from a contractor, vendor or estimate establishing the cost for the proposed work.

* Include photos that illustrate the need.

Thank you,
