Hello - some of you may have seen this article on the lottery bonding bill that contains, among many other projects, funding for the Oregon Main Street Revitalization Grant: http://www.ktvz.com/news/legislative-panel-advances-13-billion-bonding-package/575051115
As many of you are aware, the Oregon Main Street Revitalization Grant Program was created during the 2015 legislative session, and placed with the Oregon State Historic Preservation Office. The legislation established a permanent fund for the Oregon Main Street Revitalization Grant, and provided an initial infusion of funds from the sale of lottery bonds to fund Oregon Main Street Network organizations to acquire, rehabilitate or construct buildings to facilitate community revitalization.
It recently came to our attention through Speaker Kotek's office that the bill for lottery bonding, HB 5530, includes $5 million for the Main Street Revitalization Grant Program. This bill passed out of the Capital Construction sub-committee the morning of July 3. It has had its first reading in the Senate with the second reading scheduled for today and the third reading scheduled for tomorrow. You can track the progress of this bill by visiting https://olis.leg.state.or.us/liz/2017R1/Measures/Overview/SB5530.
