1. Applications are open for the Excellence in Downtown Revitalization Awards (see attached)! Oregon Main Street, part of Oregon Heritage, Oregon Parks and Recreation Department, invites you to submit nominations for outstanding achievements in comprehensive downtown revitalization efforts. The awards will be presented at a special Awards Banquet and Celebration on October 4th during the Oregon Main Street Revitalization Conference in Oregon City. The award nominations are an opportunity for you to honor the people, the projects, and the activities that are outstanding achievements in your community. This might be your community - but only if you get your nominations in by the deadline - July 20, 2017.
2. Join us for a special free ½ day workshop on the Main Street Four-Point Refresh, Friday , July 14th , 2017, 8 a.m. to noon, in Pendleton. Our speaker is Kathy La Plante with the National Main Street Center. The refreshed Main Street Approach is a common-sense, strategy driven framework that guides community based revitalization efforts. Building off three-decades of success, this updated model harnesses the social, economic, physical, and cultural assets that set a place apart, and ultimately leads to tangible outcomes that benefit the entire community. Thank you to the Pendleton Downtown Association, Pendleton Development Commission, and the Pendleton Center for the Arts for their assistance with the event. While the workshop is free, you must register to attend:

3. Save the Date! Oregon Main Street Downtown Revitalization Conference is October 4-6 in Oregon City. Our keynote speaker, generously supported by Transportation Growth Management (TGM), is Ed McMahon - see below for additional info. The conference is co-hosted by the Downtown Oregon City Association. Registrations will open in late July.
