Hello,

Hopefully you all are well on your way to working on your grant applications for the Oregon Main Street Revitalization Grant program. One of the data points requested in the section on "Community Need for Revitalization and Economic Development" has been challenging for folks to find:

"Percentage of persons in the surrounding community with weekly wages that are less than or equal to most recent federal policy guidelines for a family of three"

We will accept the data from the American FactFinder website:
https://factfinder.census.gov/faces/nav/jsf/pages/index.xhtml

1. Look up your town, and then on the left side of the page.

2. Click on the Poverty tab.

3. From there, you will see links to tables under the 2015 American Consumer Survey. Click on the table for the Poverty status in the past 12 months of Families.

4. Scroll down to the number of people in the family and look up data for family with 3to 4 people. Look up the % below poverty level and record that data.

(FYI, the Federal Poverty guidelines for a family of 3 is $20,420)

Regards, Sheri
