[OMS_MANAGERS] Shared Work Space Examples

Hi Katie,

That's how our office is set up. Or, at least I think our set up is what you're asking about. We have the luxury of having the Visitors Center located here, which provides administrative capacity for keeping the doors open and the lights on, but we have envisioned and promoted the space as a shared workspace since we secured the building. It is informal- we don't charge rent or have a paywall for the wifi or anything- but we were able to use the offering of that service to secure some urban renewal dollars and other grant funding.

We find that it is most often taken advantage of by Travel Oregon employees who don't have an office on the north coast, but we have often had watershed council people, ODOT people, Parks and Rec people, etc take advantage of it, and a few partner groups who hold their monthly meetings here.

I'm replying just to you, but I can forward to the whole group or be available to talk more to whomever might be interested?

Subject: [OMS_MANAGERS] Shared Work Space Examples

Hello,

We are looking for some examples of successful shared workspaces in rural communities. We have someone investigating this as an option for their organization and we would love to pass on some people to talk to about this so they can get some good info as they move foward. If you have one in your community, let me know.

Thank you!

Katie
