[OMS_MANAGERS] Need some help attending the Main Street Now Conference?

Hi All,

I wanted to remind you of a couple of opportunities to get some financial assistance to attend the Main Street Now Conference in Seattle in March. Some of these deadlines are approaching fast so even though the conference is not until March, you might want to think about logistics now and take advantage of these opportunities:

-          There is a limited amount of registration scholarships for which those in the Performing Main Street, Transforming Downtown, or Exploring Downtown levels can apply (this is a huge help because registration starts at over $400 and only goes up from there folks!). See Sheri’s email below for more information and specifics on this scholarship.

-          The Oregon Heritage Preservation Training Scholarship<https://www.oregon.gov/oprd/HCD/FINASST/Pages/Scholarships.aspx> is another opportunity that will fund registration, lodging, transportation, and meals and that application is due Nov. 30. Some folks have been successful in the past in getting this scholarship to help them attend this conference. BEST case scenario is to piggy back both of these opportunities ☺.

Also, I noticed that there is a Main Street 101 pre-conference opportunity on Sunday March 24 which may be good for new board members to attend who are not as familiar with the Main Street Approach™.<https://www.mainstreet.org/mainstreetamerica/theapproach> With the conference being so close this year, this is a good opportunity to invite more folks from the board and committees to attend.

FYI – registration for the Main Street Now conference, March 25-27, in Seattle, is now open. If you are in the Main Street Track (Performing Main Street, Transforming Downtown, or Exploring Downtown levels) of our Oregon Main Street Network, we are offering a limited number of registration only scholarships if you have a membership with Main Street America and you register at the early-bird rate of $405. Contact us if you need a copy of the scholarship application. If you are approved for the scholarship, we will give you a special code to use to register. As a special incentive to encourage your local officials to attend the conference, Main Street America is offering a very special discounted rate of $125 for local elected officials or for senior staff of local government (see attached flyer).
