The DBBA – September News

Let's talk about Bend Oktoberfest! We had about 2,000 more people at this year's event bringing at a total of almost 15,000 people to Downtown Bend. A big thank you to everyone who helped make this event so successful! We had over 200 volunteers, over 30 sponsors, beer, wine, cider, silly events & feats of strength, and (most importantly) we raised money for Downtown Bend - it was a huge success!

We are in deep gratitude for our title sponsor, ** Bend Premier Real Estate (https://www.bendpremierrealestate.com/)
. It's a great day when you are able to make a partnership with a local business who has values aligned with your organization. Both the DBBA and BPRE have strong values around community, collaboration, participation and service to the Bend population.

Come have coffee with the Downtown Bend Business Association! Mindy Aisling, Executive Director, and Michaela Beechem, Public Relations, will be having coffee once a month. They'll be working at the location, but Downtowners are welcome to sit down, have a coffee, and voice concerns or ideas to the DBBA. This month, Mindy and Michaela will be at Crow's Feet Commons on October 24th from 9a-11a. Feel free to stop by, chat, and have a coffee with the DBBA!

With Fall at our doorstep, we are working with the City of Bend to coordinate our cleaning efforts and their street sweeping efforts so that we can do our best to control leaves in Downtown. You will see DBBA staff blowing leaves into the road early on Thursday mornings (before 4am), and City staff sweeping the streets clear of those leave by 7am.

The DBBA has a busy season of advocacy coming up this next month. We are working with the City of Bend, Parks and Recreation, and local event producers to optimize events in Downtown Bend. If you have suggestions or feedback, please share them with us (** click here (mailto:downtownbend at gmail.com?subject=Events%20in%20Downtown)
). We are also actively advocating to keep the Hwy 97 exits/entrances open to Downtown Bend. Our next meeting is scheduled for Friday 10/12.
