[OMS_MANAGERS] Flower Baskets

Hi Jim,

The EarthPlanter <https://earthplanter.com/> hanging basket has a 4 gallon reservoir that is filled though a scoop on the side. It has a planting tray and recycled carpet to wick the water to the planting substrate (fancy dirt). The four we tried worked well and the plants were just as awesome as the ones we water from the top. My only concerns is if the grower will have issues with roots from the previous year grown into the carpet and also storage as they don’t stack the same as basic plastic planters. Our grower, Bauman’s Farm & Garden, also experimented with these pots in 2019, and I’m confident they will make it work. EarthPlanter has been around for a while. They’re at the National Main Street Conference each year and introduced the hanging basket model in 2018, I think.

Thanks,

Lise
