[OMS_MANAGERS] Alcohol Sales for Downtown Events

The City of Oakridge has a seperate events request form that includes parks, street events, City-owned properties and such. A seperate form is for the police dept. Alcohol is listed on the event application. Once City Council approves the event, the rest is done with OLCC. Our City is great helping us out with barricades, etc...
We are part of the Oakridge Keg & Cask Festival held every summer to raise money for our food box program.
We submit a lengthy letter describing the event to help the Council make an informed decision.

Subject: [OMS_MANAGERS] Alcohol Sales for Downtown Events

Good afternoon, all!

We are going to be working with the City soon to determine if there should be a “blanket” set of guidelines for downtown events where alcohol is served. This wouldn’t necessarily override the case-by-case Council and OLCC approvals required for these events, but would at least set an expectation about whether these events are allowed, and some guidelines for planning the events. That way, when we (or a third party with our assistance) would like to sponsor an event with alcohol service, we’d have almost a boilerplate plan to design around that we don’t have to worry about whether or not the prevailing winds will approve or disapprove.

Anyone have anything like this in place that they’d be willing to share?

Thanks!
