We echo what Charlotte has said…
We work very closely with the City from Public Works to Parks to Community Development departments. We have been recipients of TLT dollars for several years and depend on it to drive investment in downtown. We also support each other in funding requests and partner to leverage projects into their most impactful shape.
We’re particularly grateful for our friendships at City Hall that provide us with a great amount of knowledge and expertise as we poke around projects to determine feasibility. The City also provides materials resources that we couldn’t afford to purchase or store but need for events and cleanups.

Our City government has given us major support. They passed a facade grant fund to give out $50,000 in matching funds which generated over $900,000 in downtown improvements. Hopefully it will be renewed next year. The Planning Department has assisted us in many ways, from recommending a Cad operator to draw up plans for our proposed Gateway Arch to researching historical buildings in our Main Street boundaries, the department also guided us thru city codes. Their staff is always eager to help us solve our problems.
The Public Works Department has sent crews out to clean up the downtown for our scheduled events and their employees volunteered on a weekend to help us spruce up the downtown corridor. They shared the City engineer's time for guidance on structural recommendations for projects.
The City Manager includes us on meetings for city beautification, strategic planning and wayfinding for Ontario and one of the city employees is planning to write a city grant requesting funds to assist us in the construction of the Gateway sign.
I cannot say enough about our city support, we couldn't have done any of our work without the cooperation of our City Government. They have not had funds to hand us money but they have been a significant tool to make our pathway a success over the past five years. We are fortunate to have great city fathers who have the same goal as Revitalize Ontario! to promote and develop a healthy prosperous community. Our focus is on Ontario's Historic downtown while the City has a much larger challenge of bringing prosperity and improvement of quality of life for the whole city. Together we can make our community better. Charlotte Fugate, President of Revitalize Ontario!

Hi Sheri,
Could you please send out an inquiry to the network for me? I would like to know how much financial support Main Street programs receive from their city governments. Thanks!
