Hello Mindy,

I hope your Operations Manager posts on this list serve because I also would like to know how you get power to your trees. They are lovely. I’m in Bend often to spend time with family.

Thanks,

Hi Taylor,

I've cc'ed my Operations Manager and he can fill you in a bit more or provide some photos on how we get power to the trees for our twinkle lights.

Thanks!

Hi Mindy,

Do you have any photos of your lighting cord situation? We're considering lighting our trees for the holiday season, but are having trouble figuring out how to safely get power to them.

Thanks,

Hey All,

Our City found that running power from the tree wells didn't work well. When we used them for lighting up trees, the cords were often cut/vandalized, and folks figured out that they could plug in their cell phones, electric blankets, etc. into the plugs under the grates in the tree wells. It actually created more of a problem, so we redid things so that we could pull power from the tops of buildings and light posts for lighting up trees in Downtown.

Our twinkle lights stay up year-round and then we agument them with additional lights during the holidays. Everyone loves our twinkle lights and we get comments on them all of the time. We have custom male and female ends that are attached to SPT2 Outdoor/UV rated wire (500 ft. spools). We run the wires to specific spots on the trees where we attach C7 sockets onto the wire. We use C7 warm white acrylic random twinkle bulbs (last forever for the most part and easy to replace). Everything has been purchased between Christmas Central and 100bulbs.com<http://100bulbs.com/>.

I hope this is helpful.

Hello Steve,

The City of Lebanon is currently working on a tree replacement project, which will include electrical installation in the tree wells for lighting. We are still in the process of digging out the roots. The City has done their homework. What would you like to know?

Hi All,

Downtown Tigard has secured funding to up light street trees on Main Street- The concept is to get away from Twinkle lights that require installation and de installation annually and in some community invites vandalism.

Our thought is an LED programmable light (2 per tree) that we can change colors throughout seasons or use generic white- we have plugs at each tree.

Have other communities ventured this direction?

Thought, comments, product sourcing, successes are appreciated as we begin this exploration.
